High Speed Cut to Length Machine

PD&B Inc. High Speed Cut to Length Machine, (HSCTL)

high speed cutPD&B Inc. supplies one of the highest speed, if not the highest speed, complete cut-to-length lines in the world. It is fast and incredibly accurate. Depending on part size and construction, it can “gently” produce parts at speeds of over 300ppm; all while holding extremely tight dimensional tolerances. For example, height can be maintained at +/- 0.020mm or better using two of the optional PD&B Inc. ultra precision part sizing stations. Width, bow, camber and length maintain similar levels of precision.

At the entrance to the machine, the Multivoid Tubing is rough guided with adjustable, side to side, UMHW roller sets. From there, the web is sized with one or two ultra precise sizing stations. It should be noted that when two stations are used in series, the resulting tolerances are the industry’s tightest available. The digital indicators that supply the readouts are accurate up to one thousandths of a millimeter and allow for very fast setup part to part.

Next, the tubing enters the straightening section for camber and bow adjustment. This part of the machine utilizes ceramic and coated steel straight and profile rollers that are easily adjusted with individual digital readouts. Again, when switching from part to part the setup time is greatly reduced with recorded position values.

The heart of the PD&B Inc. HSCTL machine lies within the cut to length section. In it lies two high speed caterpillars and the PD&B Inc. Rotary Cutter which provide a continuous feed unlike the  ”stop start”  of most competitive equipment. That combination of equipment allows for line speeds of up to 150 meters per minute and part counts of up to 350ppm! All while maintaining some of the highest dimensional tolerances available in the industry.

Any of our Micro Tube or Multivoid aluminum tubing manufacturers here, or abroad, will tell you the levels of performance are unsurpassed with the PD&B Inc. High Speed Cut to Length Machine. And just as important, the trouble free lines we have in the field are a true testimonial to the durability and longevity of the equipment as well.
